Valia’s Villain by Jocelyn Dex

Thanks to Literary Lagniappe for having me here for the release of the second book, Valia’s Villain, in my Sempire Seductions series!

After Araya’s Addiction, book one in the series, I felt Valia’s story needed to be told. She only had a couple of scenes in book one, but she was so much fun to write that I couldn’t wait to give her an entire book where she could find her very own HEA.

Problem: Valia doesn’t do love. Valia enjoys varied sexual partners. Valia takes nothing seriously.

Solution: Create a hero who is different from the males Valia usually meets, someone who brings out those gooey love feelings, a hero who is incredibly dominant and blows Valia away in the sack, a hero who takes everything seriously.

That’s how I came up with Rydin’s character. Rydin is a Ferox demon, seven feet tall, complete with horns on his head. He’s a killer, a captor, a thief–not by choice–but he has no qualms about the things he does. He also has a burning need for revenge against Valia. And, of course, Valia is hot for him like she’s never been hot before.

One thing I had trouble with was them constantly wanting to get it on. I mean, yeah, it’s erotic romance so you expect sex, but that’s all they wanted to do. I finally convinced them that they had to have some conversations and get to know each other and those conversations turned into some of my favorite scenes.

What else can I tell you? Oh! There may or may not be a broken dick in this book. You’ll have to read it to find out. Ha. :-

Valia’s Villain Blurb

When Valia approaches the Ferox demon, hoping for scorching sex and a feed, she doesn’t expect to be handcuffed, transported to the demon realm, accused of dirty deeds she has no memory of committing and held captive for three days.  Even though she believes her captor to be crazy, she feels a connection to him she’s felt with no one else.

When Rydin senses the Sempire who locked him up, fed on him and used him as a sex slave many years ago, he knows his wait for revenge is finally over. Burning with the need to punish her, he imprisons her in the demon realm, where she is at his mercy, but as much as he tries to ignore it, a connection sparks between them every time they touch.

Valia’s Villain Quickie Excerpt

Valia couldn’t remember ever wanting another being so desperately. Her body hummed as his tongue worked her into a frenzy. Bossy son of a bitch, he was, but she expected no less from a Ferox.

She shuddered and moaned as he rolled his tongue around her clit, the pressure building in her lower abdomen. With her free hand, she wrapped her thumb around one of his horns as her fingers dug into his scalp, urging him to send her over the edge.

He growled and bit the inside of her thigh.

“Stop,” Rydin commanded.

“Stop what?” Valia asked.

“Don’t touch my horns.”

“But they’re so sexy.” She gave him her best pouty face.

He blinked at her, a look of surprise crossing his face, quickly replaced with a scowl. “Are you teasing me, female?”

“I told ya, my name is Valia, male. And no, not teasing. Your horns are super sexy and I wanna touch them.”

He looked at her for another long moment as if searching for something. He dipped his head and bit the inside of her other thigh. God, he was going to drive her crazy. He looked back at her and said, “They are sensitive and I am already too stimulated. I want to fuck you. I’m going to fuck you. If you do as I say, I may give you permission to touch them later.”

Oh wow. She hadn’t known his horns were an erogenous zone. Now she really wanted to touch them. His tongue lapped at her clit furiously. She avoided his horns but couldn’t stop herself from grabbing a fistful of his hair. Her hips ground against his tongue, his lips. Intense pleasure knotted deep inside. Little sparks began erupting inside her but just as she was about to fall over the edge, he stopped.

She groaned and still with a fistful of his hair, tried to force him to continue.

His eyes dark and his lips glistening with her pleasure, he said, “You were about to come. I did not give you permission.”

She choked out her words. “If you don’t want me to come, you shouldn’t lick me like that.”

His lips quirked into a cocky smile. “My tongue pleases you?”

“It’d please me if you’d put it to better use than asking me stupid questions,” she grouched.

  1. Thanks for having me here today! 🙂

  2. Hi! I love the escapism that Paranormal romance (and all romance really) gives me. And I think its amazing how authors can create a completely different universe thats like ours but not. Sounds like a really great series and I can’t wait to check it out. Thanks!

  3. I ADORE paranormal romances, basically because it is so interesting to think about what life would be like as different “species” – vampires, having the ability to shift into a different form, etc.. It’s a novel way to escape LOL!

  4. I don’t normally gravitate towards paranormal romance, but I’ve read plenty that I’ve enjoyed. I think it’s just a case of prioritizing my reading time, and it’s harder for me to believe that I’ll enjoy an untried paranormal than say an historical or contemporary. When I do read it, I’m always struck by the creativity it takes to imagine up the creatures and characteristics and what that means for how they move through their world, or ours.

Thank you for sharing with us, Jocelyn, and I wish you all the best with your series. I hope many fans of paranormal romance, and those that don’t think they are, will find it!
