Secret Identities by Domino

Hi Everyone,

My name is Domino and together with my twin brother Dominic we blog over at Breathless Press. Today I want to talk to you about our newest anthology – Secret Identities – which is a collection of superhero stories (and it releases today, 24 February).

Obviously we can all agree that there is something deliciously appealing about all these wonderful superhero movies that have come our way recently. I mean, Thor could rescue me any time and I would give up my silk stocking obsession for a chance at Captain America. Dinner with the Green Lantern would be a scream and don’t get me started on the rest of the Avengers. Sigh. Of course, there is as much reason to celebrate excellent casting as there is to enjoy the stories themselves, but you have to admit… there is something about superheroes!

For many of us there is a subconscious desire to do more, to be more than who we are. We see injustice around us and there is often nothing we can do about it. The superhero genre allows us to escape from the world around us and “right the wrongs” we see. Most superhero stories are set in what we would consider to be the “real” world, so they allow us to fantasize about our own world being better, somehow improved. It’s the most wonderful escape!

There are so many familiar super powers in the stories we all know and love. Super strength, the ability to fly, x-ray vision, laser vision, transformation (like the Hulk). The question arose … what super power would you like to have if you could have anything you wanted? Of course, when you let a group of talented romance authors loose with the idea of writing stories about superheroes, with super powers you may never have seen before, you’re bound to get more than you bargained for and this anthology doesn’t disappoint!

Until next time…

Domino xx

  1. Hmmmmm…. As I read the blurbs, especially the one about Jen Bradlee’s contribution, my first thought was, “Holy Shit! My kids are superheroes & I didn’t realize it before!” [snicker] Yes, I live in the household filled with the MASTERS OF MANIPULATION….

So what super power would I like to possess? I would like the ability to have anyone/anything do anything I say to do, WHEN I say to do it. Just think. No more arguing from kids about doing their homework… no more 2-1/2 year old golden retriever ignoring me when I tell him to come back after he’s snuck out the door and decided to run around the neighborhood with us chasing him in f-in’ frigid temps and 2 feet of snow… Ahhhhh, the possibilities! My secret identity could be as the QUEEN OF COMPLIANCE….

  2. Yay for sexy superheroes! Me, I’d love mind control – total domination. Hmm, guess that might make me more of a supervillain. O.o

  3. What fun. I do love superheroes.

My super power would be the ability to manipulate time.
