Cocktail Hour with Lisa Fox

September is such a great month. Not quite fall, and not quite summer, it has the best of both worlds. I know everyone has been lusting for pumpkin flavor season to start, but when I think of September, I think of apples. I spent many a wonderful September weekend in the orchards in upstate New York, picking crisp, wonderful apples. So, this cocktail hour is dedicated to those fond memories. I’ve got two recipes to share with you this month – a vodka cocktail for those warm nights, and a bourbon cocktail to warm you up on the cooler evenings.

Cheers!

The Golden Apple

  • 1 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Apple Brandy (I like Calvados)
  • 2 oz sparkling apple cider
  • 1 apple slice for garnish (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a glass with ice. Mix! Drink! Enjoy!

Bourbon and Apple Cider

bourbon and apple cider

  • 1 oz Bourbon
  • 1 oz ginger ale
  • 2 oz apple cider (non-sparkling)
  • 1 apple slice for garnish (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a glass with ice. Mix! Drink! Enjoy!

World-renowned neurosurgeon, master chef, secret member of American royalty, seducer of legions of beautiful, outrageously sexy angels and demons and vampires and werewolves and the occasional pirate, Lisa Fox has done it all… in her own mind. In reality, she can generally be found at her desk with a cup of coffee close at hand. Or maybe a martini. It really depends on the day.

  1. I’m a cheap drunk. I can just look at the drinks and get a buzz.
