The story of Becky and Ben’s love affair never crossed my mind when Winter Gifts was published by Breathless Press. Winter Gifts, my very first publication, is the story of Maxine Grant. I wanted to write a story about a country farm girl who falls for a well-traveled entrepreneur. Giving her a bratty sister named Rebecca happened on a whim. I needed a reason for well-grounded Maxine to need the help of Bryce Vanzetti. Blaming it all on her sister was an inspired bit of luck. Once Winter Gifts circulated amongst my friends and family the very first question from all of them-when will the sequel be out? They didn’t like that it was a one book publication. After several of them repeatedly prodded me for Becky’s story, some just curious to see if she would get her comeuppance, I thought about it. Then Becky herself nudged me to write her a happy ending. Secretly, I couldn’t wait to go back to Penning, New York and the farmlife I’ve always regretted leaving.
Book Blurb: Spring’s Promise
A man lost and looking for his future. A woman tempted to break her own promises. Can they find a compromise in a season made for new beginnings?
Rebecca Grant came home to the farm to find herself and make amends for the damage she caused her younger sister. She never expected to find herself under Ben’s seductive spell. Nor did she expect him to be engaged to a girl back home.
Benjamin Farrand is a man trying to find his place after leaving the military. He wants to make those he loves back home in Montana happy, but when he falls for spirited Rebecca Grant all he wants to do is find his own happiness in New York.
When spring brings an attraction for her sister’s farmhand, Rebecca faces the challenge of keeping promises or breaking them to fight for the man she loves.
