An Interview with Giselle Renarde (or Lexi’s Revenge)

Since the release of her first novella, sock puppet author Lexi Wood has been interviewed on YouTube more than once by award-winning erotica writer Giselle Renarde. Today, Lexi gets her revenge…

Lexi Wood: You again!  Why is it that every time I agree to an interview, I get paired up with you?

Giselle Renarde:  What can I say, Lex?  It’s a small pool.

Lexi Wood:  Not many erotica authors out there, huh?

Giselle Renarde: You could count them on one hand.

Lexi Wood: So what do you want me to ask?

Giselle Renarde: You’re telling me to come up with my own interview questions?  That’s a cop-out.  But I guess you could ask me about Wedding Heat.

Lexi Wood:  What’s Wedding Heat?

Giselle Renarde:  There you go—that’s an interview question.  Wedding Heat is a series of novelettes all of which

take place at Maggie and Ed’s wedding weekend.

Lexi Wood:  Maggie and Ed?  Who are they?

Giselle Renarde: I guess Maggie’s based a little on my cousin, and Ed’s based on the dud she got hitched to.

Lexi Wood: Can I go now?

Giselle Renarde: No!  I interviewed you twice about your novella—

Lexi Wood: You called it a book for perverts with daddy issues.

Giselle Renarde: Yeah, well at least I read it.  You’ve never even heard of Wedding Heat.

Lexi Wood: Fine.  So it’s a series.  How many installments?

Giselle Renarde: Twelve so far, and it’s not done yet.

Lexi Wood: Twelve stories?  And they’re all about Margie and Ted?

Giselle Renarde: Maggie and Ed.  And no, most of the stories actually aren’t about the bride and groom.  The tagline for the series is “Forget the happy couple—it’s the guests that make this wedding sizzle.”

Lexi Wood: So it’s an entire series about wedding guests?

Giselle Renarde: Yeah, I suppose it is.  Think about all the people who come to a wedding: family, friends, co-workers.  They’re staying at this luxury woodland resort for the weekend, and they’ve all brought their own desires and their own issues.

Lexi Wood: Weddings make people crazy-sauce.

Giselle Renarde: Do the kids still say that?  I mean… yes, exactly.  At least, some guests experience emotional spikes when someone close to them gets married.

Lexi Wood: You’re one to talk.

Giselle Renarde: Actually, I’m not a big fan of weddings.

Lexi Wood: Weddings, shmeddings. I meant you’re an old hand when it comes to mood swings.

Giselle Renarde: An old hand, eh?

Lexi Wood: What?

Giselle Renarde: Never mind.

Lexi Wood: So, basically what we’ve learned is that Wedding Heat is a series about a wedding, but it follows the shenanigans of the guests.

Giselle Renarde: Shenanigans—that’s a funny word.  And, in addition to the wedding guests, there are resort employees with their own relationships and hook-ups.  This is a pansexual series.  Characters span a broad spectrum of gender identities and sexual tastes.  There are gay, lesbian, bisexual and straights stories.  Some are kinky, some are vanilla.  A variety of ages, body types… basically, if there’s something you particularly enjoy, you’re likely to find it in the Wedding Heat series.

Lexi Wood: Thanks for the sales pitch.

Giselle Renarde: Well, you weren’t asking the right questions.

Lexi Wood: Screw you.

Giselle Renarde: Right back atcha.

Lexi Wood: Okay, let’s wrap this up.

Giselle Renarde: But I’m not done talking!

Lexi Wood: If readers want to find out more about your stupid series, I’m sure there’s a website they can visit.

Giselle Renarde:  Yeah. http://weddingheat.wordpress.com/stories-in-the-series/ There. Happy?

Lexi Wood: Excuse me?  A “thank you” would be nice.

Giselle Renarde: For what?

Lexi Wood: For taking the time out of my busy schedule to interview you.

Giselle Renarde: Maybe I’d thank you if you hadn’t done such a half-assed job.

Lexi Wood: Nice.

Giselle Renarde: Okay, I’m sorry. Thank you for the interview, Lexi.  And if readers want to find out more about either of us, we’re both at http://donutsdesires.blogspot.com.

  1. What a fun interview! And The Wedding Heat series sounds amazing. Thanks so much for hanging out with us today, Giselle!

  2. Thanks for having me! Actually, I just released the first Wedding Heat Box Set, which consists of the first SIX stories in the series, so I think our lucky winners will be getting that as a prize–six stories instead of three!

  3. That was fracktacular! Besides being a funny interview, it really made me want to read the series.

  5. Thanks for sharing the link to the Stories within the Wedding Story – it was fun to read the blurbs about all the books at once! Giselle & Emily – thank you for the highly entertaining, and yes, SNARKY, interview. It was a laugh a line! By the way, Emily – I covet your “Runs on Caffeine & Wine” tagline. I sooooo live that LOL!!! mobi michelle at oxrider dot com

  6. Oh, Giselle, that was awesome! Please don’t tell Lexi I didn’t address her directly. I’m a little afraid of that sharp (soft?) tongue of hers. I love the idea behind the series, and it’s so perfect for letting you explore so many different people and their experiences. Thank you for your generosity in not only giving to three of us, but also for doubling the number of books to six! This whole thing is just full of fun surprises.
