Baking with Emily Cale

It’s berry season!

That means it is time for all the best recipes. Mainly, ones that are super easy and include plenty of delicious fruit. Yes, that’s right. You can have dessert AND get in a serving of fruit.

How about a nice cobbler?

3/4 cup flour

3/4 cup + 1 tablespoon sugar

3/4 cup milk (I like to use whole milk for stuff like this)

1/4 cup butter

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups berries of your choice (I like to use a couple different kinds)

1. Preheat oven to 350F

2. Place butter in 8×8 square dish and set in oven to melt (Hint: Keep one eye on this or set an alarm. It’s hard to screw up, but it is possible to burn the butter.)

3. Combine flour, 3/4 cup of sugar, baking powder, vanilla and milk in a bowl. Beat until smooth.

4. Take pan out of oven. Pour mixture on top of butter. Spread berries on top. Sprinkle with remaining sugar.

5. Place pan in oven. Set timer. Wait impatiently for 50-60 minutes. Remove. Eat. Burn mouth. Be happy anyway.

  1. I love berry season, and that sounds absolutely delicious. Thanks for the recipe! 🙂

  2. I need to find someone (preferably with 8 pack abs) to make this for me immediately!
