Character Interview with Melpomene & Brent By Layna Pimentel

Thanks for having us over Emily and Lisa. I know Mel and Brent have much to do with the impending birth of their daughter, so I’ll try not to detain them for too long.

If you could summarize what life on Mt. Olympus/Helikon, or on earth, what would it be?

Mel: Let me see…do you have eight other sisters to compete with? That’s what I thought.

Brent: My last few years have been a challenge. They were years I’d never choose to live again. I’d rather live in the now, knowing I’ve done my best to help improve the world, and now it’s time to contribute by instilling the same values into my own children.

Mel: We’re going to have more?

LP: *chuckles* If only you knew.

What is your favorite food?

Mel: Pomegranates.

Brent: Deep-fried pork belly and grits.

Mel: That’s disgusting!

Brent: Have I ever made you eat it Mel? That’s what I thought. *mumbles under his breath* Thank goodness you’ll be back to your normal and cheerful self in a few weeks.

What is your fondest childhood memory?

Mel: When Calliope knotted her hair so bad that she needed it cut. *grins* She shrieked so loud that Zeus appeared in our hall to find out what had happened.

Brent: I seriously don’t understand how funny that can be. Didn’t you girls protect your hair like nobody’s business?

Mel: What are you trying to say Brent?

Brent: Nothing dear. Mine was when I got to go on my dad’s first fishing boat. Of course the damned thing was lost in some hurricane, but not before my mama found out and tossed all the dishes at him. It was pretty awesome.

Mel: Why would your mother do such a disrespectful thing?

Brent: Well, if he hadn’t gone gambling with his last check before being laid off, mama would have stood a chance at winning some cash at bingo.

LP: *shakes her head* Sounds like your mother has something in common with my mother-in-law Brent.

Okay guys, just one last question and you can get back to preparing the nursery. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Mel: It doesn’t matter where we live; so long as Brent and the baby are with me, home is anywhere with them.

Brent: Aww…I love you babe. And home is anywhere as long as I’m with you.

LP: *rolls eyes* I think you two need to get a room or something. Thanks for sitting down with me today, and I wish you guys all the best with the delivery.

Mel: Thanks Layna! See you soon.

So here is my question: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

  1. Oh, a little girl? That’s news to me. LOL A great interview!

If i could live anywhere in the world, I’d move further north. Though, looking outside at the snow, I’m wondering if that’s such a good idea.

No need to enter me, as I already have a copy. All the best!

  2. It was news to me as well Jessica. LoL

    Thank you for stopping by!

  3. Great post, Layna! I always love character interviews. Thanks for hanging out with us today.

  4. Wow, anywhere in the world, huh? Hmm, somewhere warm for sure, I hate the cold! A nice remote, tropical island with electricity and WiFi and a native population that consisted of smoking hot mostly naked men would be ideal I think.

Thanks for hanging out with us today!

  5. Enjoyed reading the comments. I have been all over the world and one of my favorite places is the Isle of Capri-I would love to live there.

  6. Love the interview. I would love to leave any where warm. Were its in the 70’s or 80’s all the time
